Managing Projects: Details and the business of getting it done.
We develop a plan and time line for restoration.
This includes detailed lists and estimates in terms of man hours and materials. As the project unfolds, this will change, and be updated. As problems are discovered during the restoration process, the scope of work usually expands and the budget will be adjusted. Scheduling is certainly difficult, many times parts must be made from scratch, parts must be located through our worldwide network of connections, all this takes time and predicting exactly is not possible. A typical restoration can easily take up to a year, some times longer.
Billing and Cash Flow
We work and bill against advance installments, each week we will send the customer a bill of work completed and materials purchased. This amount will be deducted from the customer escrow account. We will keep an up to date cash flow schedule and account reconciliation at all times, with the customer kept in the loop. If it becomes necessary to put a car in storage until a requested payment arrives, those charges plus interest on past due accounts will be billed to the project. Up to date accounts receive top priority in the shop schedule and full payment of all outstanding bills is required on completion.
